Franziska Reinbothe (b. 1980, Berlin) redefines the boundaries of painting through her innovative techniques. Known for her experimental approach to painting, which goes beyond the conventional application of paint on canvas, reinbothe engages in various techniques such as cutting, folding, sewing, and perforating canvases, as well as deconstructing stretcher frames and incorporating different fabrics. Her work is driven by a curiosity about the process of image creation and a continuous exploration of what happens when traditional boundaries are challenged.
Reinbothe's innovative works have earned her a place in several notable collections, including the Collection of Contemporary Art of the Federal Republic of Germany, the collection of the Hamburger Kunsthalle, Staatliche Kunstsammlung Dresden, and Kunsthalle Bielefeld.
