Rosalind Tallmadge

Rosalind Tallmadge (b. 1987) is a Brooklyn-based multimedia artist known for her richly textured paintings that draw inspiration from natural formations. Incorporating materials such as mica and silk, she creates surfaces reminiscent of tree bark and metamorphic rock. By using silk as a foundational element, Tallmadge subtly references the feminine body and the fashion industry while engaging with the historically male-dominated traditions of monochrome and color field painting.
